Halewood Carnival Postponed
HALEWOOD CARNIVAL POSTPONED UNTIL SATURDAY 31st AUGUST!
After many site visits this week, we have had to make the decision to postpone this year’s Carnival. Unfortunately due to the wet weather we have had over the last few weeks Hollies Field is waterlogged and unsafe for the Fair and Stalls to access.
We have therefore rescheduled for Saturday 31st August.
We look forward to seeing you all on the day.
Temporary speed restrictions – Higher Road
In order to facilitate essential signalised pedestrian crossing and cycle lane installation works on Higher Road, Halewood, a temporary 20mph speed limit restriction will be in force along Higher Road, from a distance of 50m west of its junction with Leathers Lane to both the entry and exit slip roads to Speke Road in both eastbound and westbound directions.
It is anticipated that works will take place from Monday 22nd July 2024 to Friday 31st October 2025.
In addition, a temporary 20mph speed limit restriction will be in force along Finch Lane, for its entire length.
It is anticipated that works will take place from Monday 22nd July 2024 and will have a maximum duration of 18 months.

Temporary Road Closure – Finch Lane
In order to enable essential carriageway repair works to be undertaken on a section of Finch Lane, Halewood, a road closure will be in place on Wednesday 24th July 2024, between the hours of 9.30am and 3.30pm. The area of closure will be Finch Lane, from its junction with Higher Road for a distance of 310 metres in a northerly direction.

The diversion route associated with this Finch Lane closure is via Baileys Lane, Greensbridge Lane, Lower Road, Finch Lane and vice versa.

Proposed Mersey travel changes to route 3/3A
“Merseytravel have announced that they are consulting on making changes to the 3/3A service which currently serves the Torrington Drive Estate and Camberley Dr/Arncliffe Rd.
They are proposing reduction in frequency of the 3A service and a major change to the 3 service which would see it no longer operating via Camberley Dr/Arncliffe Dr or Torrington Dr.

Knowsley Local Offer
We’re pleased to share KMBC’s new Knowsley Local Offer to make more families aware of what support is available in the borough with SEND. Knowsley Council have worked with the students at Alt Bridge school who helped to design the leaflet.
What is the Local Offer?
Every Local Authority must publish, in one place, information about provision they expect to be available in their area for children and young people from 0-25 who have SEND (Special educational needs and disability).

Halewood Culturefest Scarecrow Trail 2024
Halewood Culturefest starts on Friday 14th June as part of this years programme a scarecrow trail has been included with over 30 scarecrows being placed around the Town.
Below is the list of scarecrows and a map showing all the locations. Halewood Town Council will have 3 scarecrows 2 at Hollies Hall and 1 at The Arncliffe Centre, which have been made by the children who attended our Snap half-term programme.
Paper copies are also available from The Arncliffe Centre.
Union Flag at half-mast
As a mark of respect following the tragic incident in Southport on Monday 29 July 2024, the Union Flag is flying at half-mast outside of the Arncliffe Sports & Community Centre.
