Halewood Town Council consists of 12 Members, six each from the Halewood South and Halewood North Wards. Subject to meeting the qualifying rules as laid down by Law, Town Councillors are elected for a four year term, the last Town Council elections being held in May 2023.
There is no statutory description for the role of a Councillor, they are holders of a public office and as such must abide by the standards expected for holders of such an office.
Representing their electors, the main role of a Councillor is to influence and contribute to the formal decisions of his/her Council and in certain instances, to represent their Council externally.
