RE-ARRANGED TOWN COUNCIL MEETING
Following the horrific murder of Jo Cox MP , as a mark of respect for her and her family, the Town Council meeting scheduled to take place on 16th June has been cancelled.
The re-convened meeting will now take place 22nd June 2016 at 5:30pm in New Hutte Neighbourhood Centre, Lichfield Road, Halewood L26 1TT

THE EXERCISE OF PUBLIC RIGHTS
Under the Local Government and Accountability Act 2014 and the Accounts and Audit Regulations 2015 (SI2015/234), any person interested has the right to inspect the accounting records for the financial year to which the audit relates.
In relation to the year ending 31st March 2016, public rights may be exercised in accordance with the following notice:
Acknowledging our responsibility to ensure that there is a sound system of internal control in place, the Annual Governance statement for 2015/16 was approved by the Town Council on 21st April 2016.
In respect of the year ending 31st March 2016, the Accounting Statements are unaudited and therefore are still subject to change.

NEW 3G PITCHES NOW AVAILABLE
As part of its drive to improve services to the community, Halewood Town Council is delighted to announce the availability of its newly laid 3G pitches at the Arncliffe Sports and Community Centre.
Following consideration by Members of the Town Council, Bradley Surfacing Systems from the Midlands, recently completed the project, funded entirely by the Town Council.
The hourly rate for hire is a very competitive £25, which is discounted to £20 per hour for Halewood residents / groups. Block bookings of 10 weeks or more attract a further 10% discount.

NEW MAYOR OF HALEWOOD
At the Annual Meeting of the Town Council held on 12th May 2016,
Cllr Ms Clare Rose
was unanimously elected as Chairperson of the Town Council and Mayor of Halewood for 2016/17.
Describing her election as an honour and privilege to serve her community, here’s Cllr Rose signing her Declaration of Office.
Cllr Ms Tina Harris was unanimously elected as Deputy Chairperson and Deputy Mayor of Halewood for 2016 /17.

CHARITY NIGHT IN AID OF THE LILAC CENTRE
On Friday 6th May (7:30pm) the Mayor of Halewood Cllr Allan Harvey is having a Charity Night in aid of the Lilac Centre based at Whiston and St Helens Hospital.
A host of top-class entertainment is lined up, headed by a guest appearance by
RICKY TOMLINSON.

KNOWSLEY MBC – APPOINTMENT OF INDEPENDENT PERSONS
Knowsley MBC has a duty to promote and maintain high ethical standards in the conduct of its members and that of the Town and Parish councils within the Borough.
KMBC are seeking to appoint at least 2 independent persons to assist them in this duty.

VACANCY FOR TOWN COUNCILLOR
There remains a vacancy for a Town Councillor to represent Halewood West Ward on Halewood Town Council.
Having issued a notice under s 87 (2) of the Local Government Act 1972, no poll having been claimed, the Town Council may fill the vacancy by co-option.
Eligibility to become a Town Councillor is prescribed under s 79 of the Local Government Act 1972 so long as persons are not disqualified under s 80 of the same Act.
Accordingly expressions of interest are sought from eligible, qualifying members of the public who would wish to be considered for co-option to fill the stated vacancy.
The following link is to the person specification for the role and any person expressing an interest in being co-opted to fill the vacancy, will be invited to address the Council for five minutes, on how, having regard to the Person Specification, they consider themselves to be the best candidate to be co-opted. Members of the Council will then ask the candidate questions for a similar period before making a final decision on whom to co-opt.
This meeting is likely to take place on either 18th or 19th July 2016.
