Casual Staff – for Bar and Function Work
Halewood Town Council is recruiting new Casual Staff. In roles ideal for people living in or close to Halewood, we’re seeking enthusiastic new colleagues to help provide a great service at our function rooms at both the Arncliffe Centre and Hollies Hall.
The position and hours of work will be dictated by the demand for function hire at both centres. It will be primarily weekend and evening work. The Town Council is a National Living Wage employer.
Experience is preferred but not essential, we ask that you are hardworking and committed to providing friendly and polite service to the parties we accommodate.
Please register any interest in the post with our Operations Manager Dave Murphy via email:
Or alternatively contact him on 07871643771 for an informal chat about the role.
Former Councillor Tommy Lyons
It is with great sadness that we recognise the death of former Mayor Of Halewood, ex-Councillor Tommy Lyons after he passed away on December 24th.
Tommy was a longstanding and prominent Halewood Town Councillor through the 1970’s and 1980’s, and also represented the township as a Knowsley Borough Councillor.
Tommy was a hard-working and popular servant to our township long after his ‘working life’ stopped. He will be sorely missed in Halewood, and the thoughts of everyone at the Town Council are with his family at this difficult time.
Covid-19 Booster Clinic at Hollies Hall
Halewood Town Council is pleased to be supporting the vaccine roll-out with the NHS once again. A drop-in session at Hollies Hall on Saturday 18th December will be the first of many we hope, and our Councillors have agreed that the setting can be prioritised for use by the NHS through to the early part of 2022. This may cause some disruption to planned activities and bookings, but Councillors are keen to ensure the Town Council joins the national effort with the booster campaign. Locally, the New Hutte Centre in Halewood will also be offering drop-in vaccination clinics, with the first session coming this Sunday 19th December.
Mayor of Halewood, Cllr Ken Dalton, speaking for Halewood Town Council, commented: “Councillors, The Town Manager and staff are united in the plan to ready Hollies Hall for use as a local venue for the Covid-19 Booster programme. I encourage all of our residents, if not already jabbed or in receipt of their booster vaccination, to sign-up for an appointment or attend one of the drop-in clinics. The Covid-19 vaccination offers you the best protection from the virus and reduces your chances of getting seriously sick”.
The drop-in vaccination session at Hollies Hall opens at 10.00am and runs through to 4.00pm. If you need more advice, information on clinics near you or if you are struggling to get to a clinic, Healthwatch Knowsley are on hand to support. To find out more call 0151 449 3954 (Mon-Fri 9.00am to 5.00pm) and a member of the team will talk you through your options.
