The Town Council meeting of January 16th received a presentation from Andrew Dutton of Liverpool Airport. Andrew informed Councillors and the public about the ‘airspace change consultation’ which highlighted the proposed new access routes in and out of Liverpool Airport. One of the aims of Halewood Town council is to help promote a vibrant and active local community. The Council recognises and supports the valuable contribution made by many voluntary groups and organisations (often very small) to the well-being of our local community.
For 2020, Halewood Town Council aspires to the delivery of three significant community events. In previous years, community events would be organised wholly through the staff team of the Town Council. For 2020, our aim is to work directly in partnership with one or more community organisations to assist with event facilitation. We need your expertise, community knowledge, your volunteers and your enthusiasm!

As a mark of respect to the late Cllr Allan Harvey, and to allow staff to pay respects, both The Arncliffe Centre and Hollies Hall will be closed today from 12.15 p.m. The funeral of Cllr Harvey takes place at 1.00 p.m. in St. Nicholas Church in Halewood.
We appreciate your patience and understanding with this decision.

The family have also advised that Allan’s wish was for people to make a donation to charity rather than send flowers. The Lilac Centre meant a great to Allan and the Harvey family. It is a dedicated Charity which supports the Chemotherapy Unit at Whiston and St Helens Hospital, providing free complementary therapies for those who need it most, including holistic therapies that support patients and carers. Following the death of Cllr Allan Harvey, there is a vacancy at Halewood Town Council for a councillor position in the South Ward. With the consent of Cllr Harvey’s family, we are therefore posting notification of the vacancy through to January 23rd 2020.
