FUN DAY SUCCESS
Halewood Town Council’s Fun Day held last Saturday was an overwhelming success. Some families travelled the length of and outside the Borough to attend the event opened officially by the Mayor of Halewood, Cllr Norman Hogg. Against an approved budget of £5,000, discounting the cost of equipment which can be used on other occasions, the day cost a little over £2,900 which, based on an estimated attendance of over 5,000 represents excellent value for money.
My thanks to the staff, volunteers and Town Councillors who helped the day run so smoothly but most of all to our wonderful community for their continued support of the Town Council. Here’s just some of the photos taken throughout the day….

CALL FOR AN ELECTION
Halewood Town Council has been informed that an election has been called for the seat vacated by the recent loss of our friend and colleague Councillor Tina Harris.
Whilst it was made clear at the meeting held on 18th July, that the Town Council had no desire to fill the seat before the elections due to be held next May as a mark of respect for our late colleague, the Liverpool Liberal Democrats have proceeded to call an election for the seat, which will now take place on 23rd August.

CLLR TINA HARRIS
It is with deep regret we announce the death of Cllr Tina Harris after a short battle with cancer.
Tina was passionate about Halewood and over very many years both as a Town and Knowsley Borough Councillor, campaigned and fought for what was right.
Only last year Tina was Chairperson of the Town Council and Mayor of Halewood which she described as being an honour and privilege.
Tina’s wise counsel and friendship will be sadly missed by Members, staff and volunteers of the Town Council who all send their sincere condolences to all of Tina’s family.
May she rest in peace.
