Vaccinations at Hollies Hall
Friday February 5th 2021
The Covid-19 vaccination programme at Hollies Hall will be in operation on both Saturday and Sunday this weekend, with the first patient on each day is scheduled for 9.30am and the last one around 7.30pm.
This is by appointment only and you should contact your GP Surgery with enquiries.
On the one day Hollies Hall was opened last weekend (Saturday), a total of 324 people were vaccinated, the vast majority from Halewood.
Halewood Town Council congratulates the Knowsley CCG and our NHS Partners on this tremendous achievement.
Halewood Vaccination Centre
Halewood Town Council is very proud to be working with NHS Knowsley Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) on their COVID-19 Vaccination Programme.
We are delighted to provide the CCG use of Hollies Hall – adding a third site to deliver the COVID-19 vaccinations to patients from across Knowsley using the Oxford / AstraZeneca vaccine as and when supply allows.
The site, which is for all Knowsley people including those in Halewood, is by appointment only. Please do not turn up if you don’t have an appointment.
First Hollies Hall appointments will take place this Saturday and Sunday (January 30th/31st) with more sessions to be planned.
Cllr Bob Swann, Mayor of the Council, stated, “This is great news for the people of Halewood. It means residents won’t always have to travel out of town to get vaccinated, and also provides additional capacity to the programme, enabling people to get vaccinated more quickly. It is our civic and national duty to make sure we do our bit to beat this virus.”
Cllr Swann continued, “This is a positive development for Halewood, and we are proud of our involvement at Halewood Town Council. But a reminder that we are still a long way from safety. Until we have seen the back of this virus, we must continue to follow the advice and rules of lockdown. Together we can get through this.”
Dr. Sandeep Rai, Local GP and Acting Clinical Director for South and East Knowsley Primary Care Network added: “We are delighted to be working with Halewood Town Council to run vaccination clinics at the Hollies Hall.”
Dr. Rai will have clinical oversight at the new site. Outlining further operational details, he stated: “The CCG team and staff from practices across Knowsley have been working tirelessly to mobilise COVID-19 vaccinations in Knowsley and welcome the addition of the Halewood site to the sites already up and running in Huyton and Kirkby.
Dr. Rai summarised: “Patients are being invited to be vaccinated in line with national guidance, which prioritises the vaccination of the most vulnerable and those most at risk. The over 80’s and nursing home patients have been prioritised, and we are now vaccinating the over 70s and those patients clinically extremely vulnerable who have been shielding – our aim is to deliver the vaccine as quickly and safely as possible.
“We thank the Town Manager, Gerry Allen and the Mayor, Cllr Bob Swann and all at Halewood Town Council for their help.”
You can help the NHS deliver the COVID-19 vaccination programme effectively by following this simple guidance:
- The NHS will contact people in the priority groups when it is their turn to receive the vaccine. Please do not contact the NHS to seek a vaccine before then.
- When you are invited for a vaccine, please act on your invitation and make sure to attend your appointment.
- Please continue to wear a face covering and abide by social distancing and hand hygiene guidance as, until the vaccine has been fully rolled out, this is the most effective way to save lives.
