VACANCY FOR TOWN COUNCILLOR

There remains a vacancy for a Town Councillor to represent Halewood West Ward on Halewood Town Council.

Having issued a notice under s 87 (2) of the Local Government Act 1972, no poll having been claimed, the Town Council may fill the vacancy by co-option.

Eligibility to become a Town Councillor is prescribed under s 79 of the Local Government Act 1972  so long as persons are not disqualified under s 80 of the same Act.

Accordingly expressions of interest are sought from eligible, qualifying members of the public who would wish to be considered for co-option to fill the stated vacancy.

The following link is to the person specification for the role and any person expressing an interest in being co-opted to fill the vacancy, will be invited to address the Council for five minutes, on how, having regard to the Person Specification, they consider themselves to be the best candidate to be co-opted. Members of the Council will then ask the candidate questions for a similar period before making a final decision on whom to co-opt.

This meeting is likely to take place on either 18th or 19th July 2016.

Also shown is a link to a Register of Interest form which all Members of the Town Council must complete and sign.
