Town Council Annual Meeting & Parish Meeting 2020

Halewood Town council is scheduling two important meetings in the next few weeks. Both meetings may be accessed by the public of Halewood.

The council’s ‘Annual Meeting’ to select a new Mayor and Deputy Mayor takes place on Thursday May 21st at 5.00 p.m. The public may request access to this meeting using the Zoom Teleconferencing facility. The sole purpose of this meeting is to elect the new officials for 2020/21 and, as such, there will be no public participation.

The annual ‘Parish Meeting’ of the council will take place on Thursday June 11th at 6.00 p.m. The Annual Parish Meeting, chaired by the new Mayor of the Town Council, is the meeting for the people of Halewood and is an opportunity for residents to ask questions and receive responses from the Mayor and Town Manager. Ahead of that meeting, we will be encouraging residents to not only advise of their intention to attend the meeting, but also to send through questions to assist with more informed responses. There will also be opportunities to ask questions on the night too.

Residents are reminded that both the Annual Meeting on May 21st and the ‘Parish Meeting’ on June 11th will be recorded via Zoom. It is highly likely both meetings will subsequently be shared online for the attention of the wider Halewood public.

Given the extraordinary circumstances of the Covid-19 crisis, we are hopeful this innovative approach to the public’s attendance and participation at meetings will be welcomed by the people of Halewood.

To attend the Annual Meeting, residents must write to the Town Manager by 5.00pm on Wednesday May 20th and a meeting ID will subsequently be shared to allow access. A cut-off date for the Parish Meeting will be issued soon.
