HOLLIES PLAYGROUND CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE
I am sorry to report that we have had more mindless and deliberate vandalism to Hollies Playground. Just take a look at these pictures:
Having spent just over £46,000 last year on a complete refurbishment of the playground, it is disappointing, to put it mildly, that this has happened. The Police have been informed, Scene of Crime Officers have taken evidence in an attempt to identify the culprits and if they are identified the Town Council will give serious consideration to criminal prosecutions.
As a result the play area is closed and will remain so until further notice. The Town Council simply hasn’t got the resources to keep dealing with such vandalism.
THE FUTURE OF YOUR TOWN COUNCIL
Knowsley MBC have recently agreed to conduct what is known as a Community Governance Review of Town and Parish Councils in the Borough.
The review will centre on the electoral arrangements for the Town Council and whatever is agreed is likely to come into force when the next Town Council elections are held in May 2019.
Knowsley MBC are keen to hear the views of as many people in the Town Council area as possible and by following this link, you can find a little more details about the review and complete the consultation form.
The outcome of this review will affect the whole Township and I do hope you are able to find time to take part in the consultation and continue to support your Town Council. Thank you.
George MacKenzie, Town Manager

The Mayor of Halewood Cllr Tina Harris and her consort Cllr Edna Finneran attended the awards and were delighted to support Pat Mairs and her volunteer colleagues on a night when they, and many others, were rightfully recognised for their outstanding, selfless contribution to the people of Merseyside.
5 STAR AWARD FOR HOLLIES HALL
The Town Council were absolutely delighted to be judged as ‘VERY GOOD’ when Hollies Hall was recently inspected by the Environmental Health and Consumer Protection team from Knowsley MBC.
The inspection which was carried out on 5th September, assessed the Town Council’s compliance on food hygiene and safety, structural matters and management control procedures.
At the end of the inspection we were thrilled to be awarded ‘top marks’ 5 STARS under the National Food Hygiene Rating Scheme.

SCAM WARNING
An alert to a scam which targets taxpayers and seems to be aimed at the elderly in particular.
There is currently a telephone scam where a recorded message is left, allegedly from HMRC, stating that HMRC are bringing a lawsuit against the individual and is going to sue them. The recipient is asked to phone 0161 8508494 and press ‘1’ to speak to the officer dealing with the case. This scam is becoming widely reported and seems to be targeting older people. Please do not respond to this message, as you will be charged an extortionate rate for this telephone call.
HMRC takes security very seriously but you need to be alert. If you cannot verify the identity of the person making the call you should not disclose your personal details. You should report these incidents on the ACTION FRAUD website, or you can call them on 0300 123 2040 (Please note this number will be charged at your normal network rate). They are open Monday to Friday 09:00 – 18:00
